History

In 1925 Dillard J. Wilkirson, a businessman from Eddy, assisted both his son, Jim Wilkirson, and son-in-law, Roy Hatch, in establishing Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home at the corner of Washington Avenue and 12th Street in Waco. From the beginning until his retirement in 1975, Roy Hatch served as President of the company. In 1987, his grandson, Hatch Bailey, who represents the fourth generation of the family, took over management of the company. Several years later, he was named President, a position he still holds today.

In the company's 75th year, a second funeral home was built in Waco. It opened on June 11, 2000, at 6101 Bosque Boulevard, between Valley Mills Drive and Fish Pond Road. The Bosque Boulevard facility provides a convenient option for residents in the south and west portions of the Waco area. In November 2003, the Washington Avenue location became Funeraria Brazos, the first funeral home to serve Central Texas' Hispanic community.

For over 80 years, the Wilkirson, Hatch, and Bailey families have helped families remember lives well lived, providing services that are just right for each family's circumstances.

Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey was selected Business of the Year by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce in 1995.

A member by invitation of the prestigious Selected Independent Funeral Homes, Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey strives to maintain the highest ethical and professional standards. Many members of our staff have been with Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey for a number of years and most are licensed funeral directors. Each employee is carefully trained to provide conscientious, efficient service in the manner and tradition established by Roy Hatch. Truly, Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey represents "a family serving families."
